Two founders, two different start-ups, one shared foundation in public service and belief in harnessing the power of technology.
ALLRISE DC invites you to a very special conversation on October 27th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, between two remarkable entrepreneurs, Jo Ann Barefoot and her daughter, Katherine Flocken. Jo Ann blazed the trail, as the founder of the Alliance for Innovative Regulation and co-founder of Hummingbird and Kate followed with her own path, recently founding Revere. They built very different start-ups, but both drew on what they learned in government, their advisory practices, and the various twists and turns in their careers.
Join us to hear what it takes to imagine and build a new organization, how to take risks and reinvent yourself, what each has learned from the other. Jo Ann and Kate will also share their perspectives on AI, including their own use of AI and how it is being deployed by the financial services industry and their regulators.
Sara Weed, partner at Gibson Dunn and co-chair of the Fintech and Digital Assets Practice Group, will make introductory remarks.
The program and reception immediately following will be held at Gibson Dunn, 1700 M Street, NW. As with all of our programs, this is open to financial services professionals from the government and private sector and is intended to to comply with the reception exception to the Congressional gift rules and the de minimis exception under the federal banking agencies' ethics rules.
To register, please click on this link and fill out the Contact page on our website no later than October 23rd.
