Landing that First Board Position

  • American Bankers Association 1333 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

ALLRISE DC invites you to join us and the American Bankers Association for a program, "Landing That First Board Position".  ALLRISE DC last hosted a program on this topic four years ago and our supporters have been asking us to host another one ever since.  We are pleased to bring you an expert panel with diverse experience and perspectives on navigating the challenges of becoming a corporate board member. Our esteemed speakers for this moderated panel discussion are:

  • Lori Bettinger, Co-President of Alliance Partners, President of BancAlliance and board member of Bank on Women. Lori will discuss Bank on Women's work to develop and promote women leaders in order to increase the number of women on community bank boards.

  • Timothy Holt, Jr., a partner at the executive search, corporate culture and leadership consulting services firm of Heidrick & Struggles with a focus on board and C-Suite searches.  Tim will share his interesting experience working with the FDIC to find individuals to join bridge bank boards.

  • Poorani Jeyasekar formerly with Klaros and an active volunteer with the Leadership Foundry, an organization founded by Women in Technology that trains women executives for corporate board positions. Among other things, Poorani will talk about the benefits of her volunteer experience.

We are excited that Naomi Camper, Chief Policy Officer at the ABA, will deliver opening remarks.

The panel discussion will be immediately followed by a reception.  As with all of our programs, this is open to financial services professionals from government, industry, law firms, trade associations and consulting firms and is intended to comply with the reception exception to the congressional gift rules and the de minimis exception under the federal banking agencies’ ethics rules.

Click here to register.  Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, March 5th.
